Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Channel Wise (“we”, “us”, or “the Service”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes information when you use our YouTube channel audit and connected creator workspace.

1. Information We Collect

Account and Google sign-in information

When you create an account, we store your email address, display name, and account credentials or Google sign-in identity, as applicable. Google sign-in provides your name, email address, and profile information so we can identify you and maintain your Channel Wise session. We also keep workspace settings, credit activity, and records of actions you request in the Service.

Public YouTube data

When you submit a YouTube channel URL, we use the public YouTube Data API to retrieve publicly available channel information, video metadata, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, publication dates, view counts, and other public statistics needed to generate your report. In the connected workspace, we also collect public top-level comments for video-level audience analysis and channel-wide audience requests. These comments are collected with our YouTube API key, not your Google editing permission.

Connected YouTube channel data (with your consent)

When you connect a channel you own or manage, we initially request read-only YouTube and YouTube Analytics access. We use it to identify the connected channel; load and refresh its videos, titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and available owner captions or transcripts; and retrieve performance measures such as views, watch time, impressions, click-through rate, retention, and traffic sources. We store the channel catalog, available transcripts, metrics, analyses, and recommendations in your workspace so you can review changes over time.

YouTube video metadata updates (optional and with your consent)

Only when you choose to apply a supported edit do we show a separate Google consent step requesting YouTube editing permission. We use that permission to apply the specific title, description, or tag change you review and submit for a video on your connected channel. Granting permission alone does not publish a change. Channel Wise does not delete videos.

OAuth tokens

When you connect your Google account, we may receive OAuth access tokens and, where necessary, refresh tokens. These tokens are used only to access YouTube data and perform the YouTube actions you request. We store tokens securely where needed to provide the Service and do not sell or share OAuth tokens with third parties. You can revoke our access at any time through your Google Account security settings.

Email addresses

If you submit your email through an early-access, report, feedback, or contact form, we store it solely to follow up with you about the Service, respond to your inquiry, or provide requested updates.

Usage analytics and cookies

We may use Google Analytics and similar tools to understand how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed, referrers, approximate location, device type, browser type, and interactions with the website. Where required, analytics cookies or similar technologies are used only with your consent. You can reject or withdraw consent for non-essential analytics cookies through our cookie banner or browser settings.

To generate audits, tag recommendations, comment intelligence, audience requests, and Growth Opportunities, we may send relevant data to our AI providers, OpenAI and Google (Gemini API). Depending on the feature, this can include video titles, descriptions and tags, selected captions or transcript text, sampled public comments, public video statistics, and authorized aggregate YouTube Analytics metrics. We use the resulting analysis to provide the feature shown in your workspace.

We do not send OAuth tokens, raw video files, or Google account passwords to the AI providers. We do not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train generalized AI models.

4. Data Retention

Generated reports are accessible through a private, time-limited link. Anyone with the private report link may be able to view the report until the link expires or is deleted.

While your account is active, we retain the connected channel data, analyses, recommendations, activity, and OAuth tokens needed to operate your workspace. Cached report data and other records are retained only as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account, generated reports, cached data, or stored OAuth tokens at any time by contacting us at the address below. Revoking Google access stops future authorized collection; contact us to request deletion of data already stored in Channel Wise.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing such as analytics cookies or Google account access.

7. YouTube API Services and Google User Data

The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using features that access YouTube data, you acknowledge that your use is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

If you connect your Google account, you can revoke the Service’s access at any time through your Google Account security settings.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above, including channel audits, connected video and Analytics views, Growth Opportunities, and edits the channel owner submits. We do not use Google user data for unrelated advertising, sell it, or transfer it except as necessary to provide these features, comply with law, or as otherwise permitted by Google’s policies.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information in transit and at rest, including access controls and secure communication protocols. However, no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

10. International Processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we take appropriate measures to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law.
