Check it before you upload
Drop in your thumbnail and title, and see them next to 11 other videos on a mock YouTube homepage. Blur the page, turn it grayscale, switch to a mobile layout, or let the tool hide your video in a random spot and see how fast you find it. Your image stays in your browser. The other videos are made up, and YouTube shows every viewer a different homepage, so treat this as a quick check. Channel Wise is not affiliated with YouTube.

Questions about this tool
What does the thumbnail tester show?
It puts your thumbnail and title into a mock YouTube homepage with 11 other videos, so you can see whether yours stands out next to them. You can move it to any of the 12 positions, blur it, turn the page to grayscale, and switch between dark mode, light mode and a mobile layout.
Is my thumbnail uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser reads the image and shows it on the page. It is not sent to Channel Wise or anyone else.
Are the other videos real?
No. The other 11 cards are made-up examples with generated thumbnails. They stand in for loud thumbnails on a busy homepage. YouTube shows every viewer a different homepage, so this is a rough check.
What is the random spot button for?
It puts your card in a random position and shuffles the others. Look away, then look back. If it takes you more than a second to find your video, a viewer who is scrolling may miss it too.
Can it predict my click-through rate?
No. It shows how your thumbnail looks next to others. Your click-through rate is in YouTube Studio, and comparing it with your other videos tells you whether a thumbnail change helped.
Is this tool made by YouTube?
No. Channel Wise is not affiliated with YouTube. The page imitates the homepage layout for illustration.
See how a thumbnail change did on your own videos
Channel Wise connects to your YouTube channel with read-only access and reads each video's click-through rate, retention and impressions. It points to the video that needs attention, suggests one change to try, and later shows whether the change helped. It is free during early access.
